About

I became a student of portrait drawing and painting after a career as an engineer.

Having volunteered for community groups after retirement in 2006, within a few years I became introduced to portrait drawing. Since then I have developed portrait drawing and painting owing to several weeks per annum full-time tuition at Sarum Studio from 2014.

As a student completely new to art, I share in the trials and joys with people of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities at the magnificent atelier in the Cathedral Close Salisbury run by Nicholas Beer and Alastair Barton. Workshops and one-to-one coaching with other artists also has been influential.

Recently venturing into still life and landscape, I find that portrait experience bounces over to give a pleasing start.

I welcome enquiries for portrait commissions, which can be undertaken by sittings or a combination of sitting and photographs.
